Amgami SS – Episode 8 – Kaoru Finale

Comparing with Haruka’s arc, Kaoru’s arc felt different. It was laid back, it was casual, it was probably meant to happen. It wasn’t as if Junichi went out of his way to get Kaoru (until later), but that’s the idea. This episode was touching, to say the least. It was as awkward as Haruka’s confession at the end of her arc.

What were going to do with those in the first place?

A Quick Summary

A few days later, after searching Kaoru despairingly, Junichi’s friend and also Keiko make a plan to get hum to see Kaoru in the nurse’s office while she is in her work uniform. Of course, walking into the office expecting to get a bandage and walkout, Junichi was stunned. Of course, Kaoru didn’t make anything of it. Later in the day, they meet on the roof and Junichi asks if she has plans for Christmas. She says, Yes! and he is immediately depressed. But of course, Kaoru is joking, she has made plans for their date, together. Miya pokes fun at him later in the day for not doing anything with anyone on Christmas.

During the date, Junichi reminisces back to two years ago because Kaoru is a bit late. She takes him to the Port Tower. They walk on the port boardwalk for a while talking about the past and how they used to do this when they were younger and in middle school. Finally, it’s getting close to sunset and she takes Junichi up. He announces that he is afraid of heights, but to help him get over it, she takes his hands and holds them over a glass floor. It starts to snow and they confess to each other.

Finally, because Kaoru missed her bus and Junichi is too cheap to get her a taxi, he offers her to stay over at his house. She agrees and they get there. Junichi instructs Kaoru to take her shoes with her into his room when she gets there. She had never been in his room before and was exploring. She notices the Star Room that Junichi built for his alone time. Miya suddenly knocks on the door asking why he’s home – and also admitting she knows what’s going on – but really doesn’t. Kaoru ducked into the Star Room to hide, but eventually she gets sleepy and wants to sleep together with Junichi on his bed. So they do, and it’s awkward for him. She surprises him while pretending to be asleep wrestling with him until she’s on top. She starts to kiss him but falls asleep sitting on top of him.

The next school day, we see the two interacting closely. And that’s the end!

No Lighthouse Necessary – Land Ho!

Nothing from early on, there was just nothing going on and worth while.

'Spend time with meeeee! Niiii-niiiii~~'

So Miya is up to her tricks again. She says this like she wants her Nii-nii to stay home with her and attend her party. Or perhaps she is in fact having a party because there is no way to afford anything else. It isn’t realistic to say though that everything is double in price; it’s just another day.

Looking good, Haruka, but your Arc's looking for.

Haruka is looking excellent in her Santa outfit. Hibiki though is the voice of reason for Haruka. Otherwise, she would have gone with the Santa bikini.

Perfect.

This was an amazing scene. The lead up, the low intensity confessions of Junichi and Kaoru were aligned perfectly for a kiss on the peak of the Port Tower with snow framing it. The idea of, “Looking at snow fall from above. That’s pretty different, don’t you think?” That’s original and clever. She couldn’t have planned it better. I’ll remember that scene forever, certainly.

'You were -pretending, Nii-nii, to have a girl in your room because you're lonely. I'll be in my room if you want me...'

Miya came into Junichi’s room abruptly. I don’t know what she was talking about, maybe having Christmas with his friend from class as a cover. I don’t know. Anyway, she’s clever. She thought she heard talking from Junichi’s room, so she said she knew what was going on and he shouldn’t bother to hide it. Well, she didn’t really know. I do wonder though how she would’ve reacted to it though if she had seen Kaoru sitting there on the bed with him.

'I haven't used this in weeks... I used to hide in here... uh...'

Junichi’s star room, his home away from home, his place to be alone created after his first stand up two years ago still survives. Kaoru obviously has caused him to stop using it because he’s felt good about himself. It’s better than when he was starting with Haruka, because after the initial rejection, he crying.

Kaoru's Ultimate Attack: Sitting Kiss!

I didn’t have a good one for this picture. It was interesting how she faked her sleeping so that she could wrestle him around a bit. She managed to get on top, well, she’s the fighter after all. But she didn’t make much of a move. That’s good I think, otherwise it would’ve damaged the legitimacy of what they were feeling if they took it too far too fast.

And you know? It ended there. The was no ten year flash forward. I wanted one. In Haruka’s arc, it made sense to show that they were still kinky after ten years. It’s too bad, but it was different.

Finally

That’s the end of an excellent arc! The next arc is the red-head, Sae. I like how she looks, innocent, laid back, shy and so on. The problem is her voice. I cannot stand it! I seriously can’t! But we’ll see how it turns out.

Amagami SS – Episode 7 – Kaoru Arc III

Finally we can see what has troubled Kaoru so much. This episode was excellent, we had more glimpses of other arc heroines and of course more screen time with our male lead – but unfortunately without any strange and new methods of kissing.

A Quick Summary

Junichi is watching TV with Miya and snacking on their favorite rice chips. A commercial with a girl in a bikini comes on and he stares at her bellybutton remembering his evil-doings from just yesterday. Miya notices and hits with a pillow calling him a pervert and a bellybutton-kisser. Later at school, Kaoru does not show up for class. Concerned, he asks he girl who he gave to advice to a few days ago where she is. She tried to call, but never got through because no one answered. Then, he goes to all of the places she hangs out, and then runs off into the city ignoring the rest of the day’s classes. He thinks about her favorite candy in a grocery store, he meets the boys whose birdie Kaoru saved – they told him that she was crying down by the beach. He just misses her, and he walks off somewhere and eventually overhears Haruka and Hibiki talking about a waitress that spilled crab all over.

Junichi found Kaoru working at her restaurant. He tried to get her attention through the class but only managed to get a customers attention and is broke so he can’t walk in and order coffee. He waits outside the back door for a while, and Kaoru pokes her head out saying it’ll be 15 minutes before her next break – she also gave Junichi a scarf During her break, she spills the beans: her mother was with a man she didn’t know – her mom smiled in a way she wouldn’t do at home so she was angry and when got home, they had a fight. Kaoru didn’t want her mom to remarry, so she stayed out all night at an manga cafe after seeing her mom with some guy. Then she hurls Junichi over and returns to work, well, after some mushy stuff. She goes to call her mom. Miya and her friends are walking by, but luckily don’t see Junichi this time. Finally, Junichi gives Kaoru her present – her favorite candy. The next day she is full of energy and very cheery, she thanks Junichi.

That was longer than I expected, but it was easier to write because I paused halfway in each section.

A Tale Along A Scarf – Impressions Mixed In

She's right - he's a bellybutton-licking freak

Miya took a moment before the opening credits to roll out what possibly could be the naming calling insult of the year: bullybutton-licking freak. She witnessed the previous escapade of Junichi in the library so she has every right to say this. Miya doesn’t really shy around Kaoru at all, unlike she did with Haruka, and the reason for that is still unknown.

'I'm homeless... could I have some coffee... please...?'

Kaoru is found working and she notices him outside the window. She presents to him the scarf of his dreams, but I guess we don’t know if he keeps it or not. Anyway, he was willing to wait outside for her entire shift to end but luckily he’s not sly at all and is easily noticeable. Kaoru also showed her generosity by way of the scarf.

She should be careful - Junichi has hot coffee in his hands

The emotional dump upon Junichi was taken very well. Thinking about on it now after watching the entire episode, it wasn’t that emotional. She wasn’t screaming and crying and she was totally crazy either. She obviously calmed down a lot already before he even got there. She was stable enough to be working after all.

They had three colors of what?

I think every arc girl was in this episode. Of course Miya was with Ai and the other girl. Those three were talking about something, but they didn’t allude as to what it was. Something for Christmas perhaps?

'That was perfect.' - Hit By A Truck When Crossing Road

Junichi gave Kaoru her favorite chocolate and started to cross the road. I thought for sure something was going to happen in that time to make this entire arc totally win. But that wasn’t to be since no truck came out of nowhere.

That's how you walk when out on dates - not in school!

The day after brings Kaoru new life. Junichi offers to help carry a huge amount of paper for single class. That’s absurd. That school needs help.

And she called -him- a pervert!

It wasn’t the final scene, but seriously it was amazing. I never expected her to walk in while he was taking a bath. Since Miya called him a pervert earlier, I it was ironic she did that herself, so she’s more so than he is. Interesting for her I think. I couldn’t quite tell if she was honestly concerned about him in a hot bath and being all red and such.

Finally

Well, my impressions were above. Kaoru and Junichi have affirmed their relationship with each other, more or less. He vowed to stay with her. It’s kind of like the Haruka arc, she was lonely and he was going to be there for her. Kaoru wasn’t so lonely, she wanted to cherish her father’s memory and live with her mother alone. But as times change, she’s getting what is very much like a new guy in her life – making it more fair for her mother to also have new love in her life too.

Good episode.

Amagami SS – Episode 5 – Kaoru turns it up

It’s like I’ve written this post before – I have. I wrote this post to test out my theme and tinker with the screencap system. But don’t worry, the post doesn’t have any major flaws, except, well, being the first real write up I’ve ever done.

Kaoru seriously turned it up this episode. Junichi is the kinky one, we all knew that when he was with Haruka. But Haruka never knowingly pushed Junichi towards anything, at least not until late in the game. Kaoru did though, she thought about it a lot. I’m still figuring things out here, but I’ll try my hand first.

Where are those hands going?
